This is the news I saw today and at the same time I realised the reality of our society.
The stigma which is labelled through decades on women is that women are responsible for the whole wrongs caused to them.
Even they got punishment more than the culprit as mental pressure built in their senses.
I am the witness and part of this so-called culturally rich society in which people do talk about the dresses of females and decide their characters accordingly.
I am practicing as a lawyer in Allahabad and I see every day the thinking of a male lawyer towards the female lawyer.
I am not saying that every man is just the same, the number of narrow-minded men is decreasing slightly but few keep this mindset to use women for sex at any cost.
When we look towards the legal changes from the independence of our nation there are so many laws that have been implemented for the social security of women but if we analyze the ground reality, we find the impact of them is not as expected.
As I see the situation at Family Court, most of the cases of dowry and domestic violence are compromised with the compromise of divorce cases.
Compromise doesn’t mean the offense had not been done but as a ground reality women have to do compromise for all the cases for getting maintenance and allowance.
This is the reality that the legislature intends to solve these cases by mediation but due to the long-lasting procedure, most of the women’s compromise not because of satisfaction but they do so because of pressure built by the social and economic insecurity, and for this reason, the offender gets freed from all the offenses he had done.
So technically the offender gets rid of the wrong he had done by paying some money in the form of maintenance and allowances. Is this trend is correct in a civilized society?
